THE PAST - REGULAR AND IRREGULAR VERBS

Today we are going to look at regular and irregular verbs together. 

Regular verbs are verbs with -ed in the past.

Every day I work. 
Yesterday I worked. 

Irregular verbs are verbs that change. 

I give my friend a present every year. 
Last year I gave my friend a present.

THE PAST - IRREGULAR VERBS

Today we are going to learn about irregular verbs. 

To talk in the past, for some verbs we just add -ed.

Yesterday I started work at nine o'clock. 
Last week I visited my family. 


For other verbs, we have to change the spelling. 

Yesterday I wrote an email. 
Last week I drove to Dublin.

THE PAST WITH -ED

Today we are going to learn how to talk about things in the past. 

To put a verb in the past we just use -ed.

Every day I smoke. 
Yesterday I smoked

Every day I wash my hands. 
Last night I washed my hands. 

We say the -ed in different ways. 
1. Like a "t"  - smoked
2. Like a "d" - called
3 Like "id" - started

COMPARING 2 - MORE DANGEROUS THAN

In this blog we will look at how to compare two things using "more". 

For some adjectives we use "-er"
big - bigger
small - smaller
fast - faster

For longer adjectives we need to use "more"
more dangerous
more exciting
more expensive

ADVICE - SHOULD and SHOULDN'T

We give Advice when someone has a problem.

We use "should" and "shouldn't".

Problem: I have a pain in my leg.

Advice: You should go to the doctor. You should rest.
